Front and backend relations are getting better faster stronger and easier

Here are a plain list of modules that really gives site builders front and backend super powers and make these two categories of developers closer than ever.

Page Manager

It supports the creation of new pages, and allows placing blocks within that page.
Like Drupal 7's Page Manager, it provides a concept of "page variants", each with their own selection conditions.
Additionally, it can be used to take over an existing page, like overriding /node/% to change what is displayed when viewing a node.

It utilizes the core Conditions, Context, and Blocks APIs to accomplish this.

UI Patterns

A newcomer!
Define and expose self-contained UI patterns as Drupal plugins and use them seamlessly in your panels, field groups or Display Suite view modes.

Paragraphs

Paragraphs is the new way of content creation!
It allows you — Site Builders — to make things cleaner so that you can give more editing power to your end-users.

Instead of putting all their content in one WYSIWYG body field including images and videos, end-users can now choose on-the-fly between pre-defined Paragraph Types independent from one another. Paragraph Types can be anything you want from a simple text block or image to a complex and configurable slideshow.

Paragraphs and Display Suite

Display Suite allows you to take full control over how your content is displayed using a drag and drop interface. Arrange your nodes, views, comments, user data etc. the way you want without having to work your way through dozens of template files. A predefined list of layouts (D7 only) is available for even more drag and drop fun!

By defining custom view modes (build modes in D6), you can define how one piece of content should be displayed in different places such as teaser lists, search results, the full node, views etc.

Paragraphs and Geysir

Geysir 1

Geysir introduces several user interface optimisations which support content authors in their daily workflow. Initially, focus lies on the page building process: Geysir depends on the excellent Paragraphs module and currently supports the following features:

  • Editing of separate paragraphs in a modal dialog
  • Deletion of separate paragraphs from the front-end

Components

Still related to Paragraphs, a serie of 3 articles related to Components (not related to Web Components, but still close in reuse principle).

Style Guide

Provides a visual testing page for Drupal themes. Quickly compare the display of common elements across your themes, and verify that your new theme addresses all common style elements.

The Style Guide module creates a preview page for displaying common theme elements in all active themes for your Drupal site. The module comes with previews for common HTML elements, such as tables, forms, links and lists.
